01Start with your goals
If physical or cognitive changes make daily activities harder, occupational therapy can help you explore ways to adapt. Therapists listen to your needs and assess options for home accessibility, mobility and your chosen level of independence.
02Home safety
An assessment considers how you enter, move around and use your home. Recommendations may include assistive technology, mobility aids, home modifications and support from care workers.
03Assistive technology
Aids are selected around your physical, environmental and cognitive needs. Examples include walking frames and wheelchairs for mobility, or orientation equipment for cognitive impairment. Recommendations are individual.
04Access your community
Therapists can explore routes, transport options and equipment to help you reach places that matter to you. A goal-based plan can include activities that make going out more accessible and support confidence and routine.
05Care that understands you
Care Partners listen to you and your family to develop a person-centred plan. Services can be reviewed as needs change, within available funding and programme rules. Our team supports cultural needs; many staff speak Russian, Hebrew, Polish or Hungarian as well as English.
06Funding and costs
Support may be arranged through an approved Support at Home package or privately, depending on the service and your circumstances. Ask the team about your options and the current price guide. Assessment, contributions and service availability must be confirmed for your situation.
07Getting started
Contact JewishCare to discuss your needs. If you are enquiring on someone else’s behalf, make sure you have their permission. The current aged-care enquiry form accepts enquiries for yourself or another person and states a response within 2 business days.
