PROGRAMMES & SUPPORT

Music Therapy

When words feel out of reach, music can help. A relaxed, supportive space to explore what you are feeling through sound, rhythm and song.

About this support

A gentle place to begin

JewishCare offers small, supportive Music Therapy groups for people experiencing distress or feeling overwhelmed. Groups are facilitated by a Registered Music Therapist. No musical experience is needed.

Explore feelings through music

Listening, playing, rhythm, sound and songwriting offer ways to explore thoughts and feelings that can be hard to put into words. Everything is optional, including joining in by simply listening.

Space for connection and calm

The group offers opportunities to express difficult feelings, notice your inner experience, share with others and find moments of rest and enjoyment. You can find your own voice at your own pace.

Try a drop-in session

Sessions are free and all instruments are provided. Open the original event page to check current session arrangements and register your interest.

Your questions, answered

Do I need to be musical?

No. You do not need to play an instrument, read music or sing. This is not about skill or sounding good. Participate in whatever way feels comfortable, including simply listening.
